About LAI:

Lambrecht Auction, Inc. has been a traditional Auction company since 1958.  We have sold real estate, antiques, construction & farm equipment, tools, firearms, business liquidations, and more.  In 2010 we began developing a niche business of Building Material Auctions.  In these Auctions we sell items such as kitchen cabinets, flooring, lumber, roofing, plywood, tools, and much more.  We have grown to a staff of 20 full time people.  We now operate out of the former Ellmer’s Glue Factory in Bainbridge, NY.  This facility consists of a 48,000 sf warehouse on 20 acres.  We relocated our business to this facility in 2016 and it has offered us great opportunity to grow.  We still see major potential in this business.  We operate a unique niche and there are not many others in the country that offer what we do.  We have already grown to be one of the leading Building Material Auction Companies in the US and believe we have a large growth opportunity still to come.

Scope of Team’s Responsibilities:

The Auction Setup Team consists of 2 to 4 people that perform the primary function of loading customers after they have made their Auction Purchases.  In order to perform this service, we operate several different types of forklifts, as well as, doing some old fashion physical loading.  We provide our customers two loading options: either at our facility in Bainbridge, NY or at “Satellite Locations” in the northeast that we travel to.  We do operate all year long and in all weather conditions.  We load our customers on an appointment system, which helps us control the flow of people showing up to load and it is of greater convenience for the customer.  The Auction Setup Team preps for appointments by gathering all the purchases and grouping them by customer and appointment time in advance for the customer. This team also performs other responsibilities in order to aid other teams in prep work for tagging, staging, loading, and unloading of tractor trailers for shipment.

*We are willing to train on Forklift

Desired Experience:

  • Driving pickup truck hauling trailer of 10,000 lbs to 15,000 lbs

In order to be successful in this team, you will have to be a good communicator, have a strong positive attitude, and willing to hustle.  We are looking for people committed to ending their day based completion of daily goals rather than punching a time clock.  Candidates without a driver’s license and not willing to commit the travel component will not be considered.

Day to Day with Us:

A typical workday begins at 8 am and ends at 4:30 pm with a ½ hour lunch.  Because we are a deadline business, we sometimes have to stay late to finish work in order to meet our deadline.  When Traveling to Satellite locations, our team typically leaves on a Tuesday afternoon, arrives Wednesday morning to the Auction site at 7 am to unload trucks, and leaves at approximately 6:30 pm.  On Thursday the team again arrives at 7 am and loads customers until 3:30 pm.  After that they pack up their tools and drive home, typically that is a 2 to 4-hour drive.  On the weeks with travel, the team typically works a 4 day week, and on weeks without travel, they work 5 days. We do operate in a fast-paced environment that difficult for some, while others love and get excited about the hustle.
